General Summary of PositionIntermediate Care Unit (IMC) at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital serves as a critical bridge between the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and general medical-surgical floors. The unit is designed for patients requiring close observation and advanced nursing caremore than what a general floor provides, but not at the intensity level of the ICU.Unit Highlights:36-bed intermediate care unit serving a broad medical population. Respiratory support: BiPAP, CPAP. Cardiac and insulin drips for complex management. Dedicated support staff, including:Assigned Telemetry Technicians for real-time cardiac monitoring.On-unit Respiratory Therapists for seamless respiratory interventions. diverse and collaborative nursing team focused on teamwork, professional growth, and continued learning. Flexible scheduling options to support work-life balance and staffing needs.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex.
