As part of the global controls team, you will work with highly motivated experts and innovators in the data center industry. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, project management, and maintaining the building management system (BMS) and electrical power monitoring system (EPMS).Using Amazon leadership principles, you will develop new processes and standards while innovating in the controls space. The Data Center Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs) are Amazon’s front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical operations and troubleshooting. The Data Center Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs) are Amazon’s front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical operations and troubleshooting. This role requires hands-on expertise in both front-end and back-end development, as well as knowledge of infrastructure and DevOps tools in a secure enterprise environment.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Act as a senior technical consultant delivering expert guidance on full-stack technologies and modern development practicesDesign and develop responsive user interfaces and rich browser applications using modern UI frameworks and design patternsPrototype, test, and iterate UI/UX solutions based on user research, journey mapping, and usability principlesBuild scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Spring BootSupport containerized deployments using Docker, and manage builds with MavenImplement and manage GitOps pipelines with Flux and Kustomize for Kubernetes-based environmentsIntegrate services using REST APIs and manage infrastructure using Helm, Kudectl, and RancherLeverage tools such as Git/GitLab, Jira, and Confluence for agile collaboration and trackingDevelop in Linux environments using scripting languages like Python and tools like IntelliJ IDEAMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience OR associate’s degree with 15 years of relevant experience OR high school diploma/GED with 20 years of relevant experienceExperience with Java, Spring Boot, and Maven for backend developmentExperience with React, TypeScript, Material UI (MUI), Cypress, Vitest, or Vite for UI developmentExperience with Docker, RESTful APIs, and GitOps workflowsExperience with maintaining and modernizing AWS platformsStrong scripting skills in Python and familiarity with Linux-based developmentIAT I certification (DoD 8140 required within 60 days of starting employment.
