SummaryJOB SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, assists in the implementation of the hospital's safety and security programs. Maintains the safety and/or security of hospital Associates, Visitors, Patients, buildings, grounds and equipment. Oversees the enforcement of parking regulations on hospital grounds and at other Carroll Hospital Center facilities. Provides assistance in handling combative and/or unruly Patients or Visitors. Must be able to intervene with physically aggressive individuals, with a focus on use of the least restrictive measures and the use of force only when absolutely necessary. Performs shift duties as circumstances, situations, scheduling and staffing levels require. Performs foot patrol of both interior and exterior of Hospital facilities. Provides motorized patrol of Hospital campus. Provides escorts and vehicle assistance. Required to perform security duties during Fireworks Detail on Independence Day (July 4) or appropriate fireworks rain date, in addition to other special details. Able to perform as a Lead Security Officer on weekends and holidays. Takes into consideration age related factors for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations when communicating with patients, families and visitors and when implementing emergency procedures.REQUIREMENTSPreferred High School Diploma Must possess the knowledge, skill, physical ability and mental capacity to recognize and abate fire, safety and security discrepancies that are normally required through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.2-4 years Minimum of three years of law enforcement, corrections, security, or EMS experience, or one year of experience as an IAHSS certified officer (Basic level). RequiredCPR - AHA Healthcare ProviderIAHSS Basic certification
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Must respond to incidents of an emergent nature requiring a timely response (I.E. unruly Patient\Visitor\Staff). Interpersonal skills, both written and oral, are necessary in order to effectively interact with Patients, Visitors and Staff. Fleet safety requirement.Additional InformationWho We Are:
