Responsibilities: JOB SUMMARYThe Journeyman 2-Refrigeration is responsible for installation of refrigeration systems following customer specifications, applicable building code and proper piping practices.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Install and assemble new refrigeration units, components, and systems (including air conditioning and commercial/freezer systems) according to blueprints and specifications.· Ensure proper setup, including electrical wiring, plumbing, and refrigerant line connections.· Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration systems, ensuring that components like compressors, condensers, and evaporators function efficiently.· Clean, lubricate, and inspect refrigeration units to prolong the life of the system and prevent breakdowns.· Monitor system performance, troubleshoot, and repair systems as needed.· Diagnose malfunctioning refrigeration systems, using test equipment to pinpoint issues and repair or replace defective parts.· Analyze and interpret system diagrams and blueprints to resolve problems.· Handle refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.· Ensure proper refrigerant levels and perform recharging as needed.· Adhere to all federal, state, and local codes and regulations, including safety standards for refrigeration work.· Ensure safe working practices and maintain a clean work environment.· Interact with clients to understand system needs and provide effective solutions.· Explain system performance, maintenance requirements, and repairs to customers.· Provide recommendations for system upgrades or improvements.· Embodies the CoolSys CARES culture (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment, Safety).· Performs other duties as assigned.
