Per diem flat rate: $45/hr POSITION SUMMARY: The Echo Sonographer, under the direction of a Cardiologist, performs Echocardiography exams at technical level that do not require direct supervision over technical detail. The Sonographer conducts a variety of Echo exams including Doppler, Transesophageal Echo (TEE), 3D exams, Bubble and Contrast exams. Uses independent judgment, ingenuity and acquired knowledge to obtain quality diagnostic images. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Graduate of an accredited program of Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography. Must obtain Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification within one year of hiring and maintain registration by obtaining 30 Continuous Medical Education Credits (CMES) every 36 months. Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire or receive certification within the new employee introductory orientation period and maintain clinical competency during employment within this role. Applicant must have 2+ years in med/surg or progressive care.The Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (SICU and Neuro ICU) has a combined total of 30 intensive care beds designed to provide specialized care to the critically ill adult (14 and older) patient. The unit has a usual 50/50 split of patient population between the neuro and surgical patient population. The focus of care is includes patients with life-threatening conditions related to major elective and emergency surgical procedures, multi-trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, stroke, seizure, sepsis/multi-organ system failure, hemodynamic instability and failure to wean.
