Unit Summary:
The Medical Surgical Unit provides medical oversight for patients with chronic or acute illness, and patients recovering from surgical procedures. One of our most fast paced units, Med/Surg can transfer or discharge more than 300 patients a month.
Position Summary:
Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities and performance evaluations.Collaborates with physicians, nursing, pharmacy and other healthcare team members/departments to determine, coordinate, and provide medical nutrition therapy.Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.During tour of duty, maintains constant communication between all nursing areas and the registration area in order to facilitate a smooth through put of patients.Provides basic direct patient care as needed.Responds to all in hospital emergencies to guide and assure appropriate outcomes.Treats patients and their families with respect and dignityUnderstands and practices within the scope of practice as an RN.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Nursing, requiredBachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferredKY RN state licensure or compact licensure, requiredHandle with care within 7 days of hireBLS within 30 days of hireACLS within 1 year of hire
