We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsTheL&D Registered Nursewill provide professional and direct nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process, collaborating with other members of the health care delivery team, including physicians, to assure quality health care. The L&D Nurse assumes the responsibility for patient assessments, patient education, administration of medications as ordered by physician, via oral, IM, SQ, or IV route.What you will do in this role:Provides for patient comfort, safety, respect, and confidentialityDemonstrates effective therapeutic communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal with patients, caregivers, and family membersReceives and assesses patient ensuring appropriate level of care as determined by their needsUtilizes data obtained from the nursing assessment and formulates a plan of treatment with other members of the multi-disciplinary team based on the patients needsAssesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care provided. Re-prioritizes care plans every 24 hours & as neededIncorporates the physician's orders into the treatment plan and interprets them to the non-professional staff providing care to the patientPerforms treatment interventions requiring a physician's order and nursing licensure implementationAccepts and communicates verbal, electronic, and written physician orders to program staff, families, and appropriate agencies involved in the patients total care spectrumEngages in timely efficient discharge planning, assuring the transition of patients to the appropriate level of care as determined by the patient's needsWhat qualifications you will need:Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is requiredMust be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN licenseCurrent American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - ACLS and NRPMinimum of 1-year experience requiredMemorial Health Meadows Hospital is a regional health system featuring a state-of-the-art hospital, cancer center and a network of physician practices that serve Vidalia, Ga. and the surrounding communities.
