Ensures the safe operation of all equipment used in the Cardiac Cath lab. Works under the direction of physician. The role you'll contribute: Performs imaging procedures/treatments according to cardiac catheterization lab practice standards to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Assist with procedure scheduling and preprocedural patient education/instructions when necessary Prepares the patient for the procedure and monitors, positions, and assists patient during procedure Assists the physician throughout the procedure Assesses the procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness. Safely operates cath/IR support equipment for all procedures performed in lab. Cleans and calibrates equipment Follows proper infection control procedures Communicates with the physician and other staff members about patient condition as needed. Using the electronic medical record, performs procedural documentation for all procedures performed in the cardiovascular labs in a timely manner. Maintains department inventory Ensures that department is adequately equipped; keeping supplies organized Orders supplies as per procedure Assists in departmental performance Improvement activities including collecting and documenting quality improvement initiatives. Ensures high quality service in compliance with all federal, state, and local accrediting bodies rules, regulations, statutes, requirements, and standards including TJC, measured through quality control, performance improvement and customer satisfaction survey results. All other duties as assigned Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: · Must be a Registered Nurse, Cardiovasular Tech or Radiology Technologist. Must have a current Georgia license/certification in respective field. Computer proficiency required. Excellent organizational and communication skills. He/she is responsible for customer satisfaction, financial management, regulatory compliance, Human Resource issues, employee competency, Performance Improvement, maintaining and complying with policy and procedures, and regular communication with employees. The Director also assumes the role of professional educator, manager, and consultant/resource person. He/she works with all levels of management, health care providers, patients and families to identify needs, design, implement and evaluate a variety of educational programs. SHARE Customer SatisfactionReviews the Gallup satisfaction results with staff at monthly staff meetings.Discusses ways in which the employees can contribute to patient satisfaction. Departmental minutes reflect documentation not less than quarterly.Provides specific feedback on the annual evaluation to each employee as to his or her contribution to patient satisfaction. Appoints a departmental representative to serve as Secretary for minutes. Secretary and Department Director sign a copy of the minutes for internal record.Assures persons not in attendance have access to review meeting minutes.Regulatory ComplianceComplies with TJC (The Joint Commission) and HFAP (Healthcare Facility Accreditation and Performance) standards to ensure the hospital maintains accreditation.Complies with CMS (Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services) Conditions of Participation to ensure appropriate reimbursement.Complies with State of Georgia DHR ORS (Department of Human Resources, Office of Regulatory Services) Rules and Regulations.Ensures compliance with changes made by any regulatory agency.Human ResourcesWorks with Employment Recruiter for staffing, which may include: Selection/Screening, Interviews, and Reference Checks.Ensures employees are orientated within Gordon Hospital and their respective department, as well as reviewing employees job description.Ensures each employee is evaluated in accordance with Gordon Hospitals Performance Appraisal Policy (1800.46) New hires after 90 days, and annually thereafter.Addresses progressive counseling through verbal and written communication.
