The patients generally have a short stay in the hospital. Patient are high acuity requiring sometimes complex interventions and advance critical thinking skills. The flow of the unit is fast pace but provided many opportunities to learn new things. This area also cares for general surgery, GYN, and urology patients. Clinical encounters could include: PCA pumps, Nasogastric (NG) tubes, bladder irrigation, drain management, wound care, wound vac management, pain management, heparin drips, and TPN/Lipid infusion, etc.Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1: 5-6.We are excited to be adding new members to our team.
