The Therapy Team leader assists the Director of Therapy Operations in day-to-day operations of a therapy team or discipline. The position requires effective supervisory skills along with good communication skills for interdepartmental relationships, and competency in licensed discipline evaluation, assessment, care planning and treatment. The Therapy Team Leader must delegate and supervise tasks of therapist assistants and technicians; assist with staffing, scheduling, orientation, training and communications to provide adequate coverage for patient treatments; and maintain open and on-going communication with hospital departments to ensure patient, staff, and hospital needs are met. This position typically provides patient care in licensed discipline 80% - 90% of work hours.The Therapy Team Leader helps create an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals, conveying the hospital mission to all staff, holding staff accountable for performance, motivating staff to improve performance, and being responsible for the operation of the department, to include measurement, assessment, and continuous improvement. Services include but are not limited to application of therapeutic techniques in areas such as:Therapeutic exercise including aerobic capacity conditioning, balance coordination, agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, and endurance trainingFunctional trainingManual therapyAirway clearance techniquesIntegumentary repair and protectionUse of electrotherapeutic, physical agent and mechanical modalitiesDesigns, fabricates, fits and/or applies adaptive devices, and trains patients in the use of adaptive devices including orthotics and prosthetics.Selects appropriate activities suited to the individual's physical and mental capacity, intelligence level and interest.Instructs patients in the skills and techniques required for participation in mobility activities and evaluates patient progress, attitudes, and behavior as related to rehabilitative potential.Performs routine reexamination as needed/required to modify/progress plan of treatment.Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications: * They must have a valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license and eligibility.* They must have a Master's degree in Physical Therapy; or* They must have a Master's degree in a Physical Therapy related field in addition to a Bachelor's degree in Physical * Therapy; or* They must have a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience.* They must be available to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the therapists primary home.* The qualifying Physical Therapy degree earned outside of the U.S. must be evaluated to be the U.S. equivalent to a degree in Physical Therapy. Posted Salary Range: USD $55.00 - USD $70.00 /Hr.
