We want you to apply!The CT Technician works in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting performing a variety of CT Scan imaging procedures used to diagnose medical conditions. You will operate the CT scan equipment to produce quality images for detecting pathology and abnormalities in patients. You will obtain consent, prepare patients, and explain the procedure to them. The patient population may range from newborn to geriatric.You will:Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patientDetermine most suitable anatomical posture/position and shield patients accordinglyCollaborate with physicians and other Imaging staff as neededPractice aseptic/sterile technique for all proceduresWork within the CT Tech scope of practice according to policy and proceduresFollow all general infection control measures and those specific to the CT scan departmentComplete required documentation accurately immediately after completing each caseWhat qualifications you will need:Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateRegistered Radiographer (ARRT)State Registered Radiologic TechnicianVocational School Graduate, or High School Graduate / GEDGraduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic ImagingOne year of experience in performing CT preferredFlorida State DOH General Radiographer and ARRT CT Registry or registry eligible and acquire within six months of hireNo Travel RequiredHCA Florida JFK Hospital was named in honor of our 35th president. We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Cardiovascular Technologist is responsible for working as a team member with other Cardiovascular Laboratory personnel and physicians in providing the technical expertise necessary to perform those procedures required in the Cardiovascular Laboratory. The maintenance of the Cardiovascular Laboratory, in all respects, lies with each staff member. He/she is responsible for providing a safe and meaningful service to the patient and physician. To this end, he/she must be familiar with all of the equipment involved in performing such duties and be able to operate such equipment when required. He/she must have knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, hemodynamics, and sterile technique. He/she must have a good understanding of the whole scope of procedures performed and be able to act in any capacity as required. He/she is responsible for providing the physician with reliable data and results at the completion of the procedure.
