POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of the Nursing Education Department reports to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Provides overall planning, direction, coordination, management, and supervision for the Nursing Education Department, focusing on staff education and education for nursing throughout the organization. Consults with Nurse Educators, staff nurses, physicians, and Nurse Executives on the organization#s educational requirements to ensure that patient and staff needs are met. Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire or receive certification within the new employee introductory orientation period and maintain clinical competency during employment within this role.
