Reports problems to supervisor. * Evaluates CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label. Transmits all exams to PACS (Picture archiving and communication systems). * Instructs and prepares patients for imaging procedure. * Logs exams in log book under proper exam number and disk number. Keeps accurate records including entries in exam logbook and achieving process. * Performs specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. Performs routine and specialized CT exams. * Photographs and develops exam films in accordance with the department standards. Maintains high degree of exam quality (proper DFOV -Display Field of View, protocol, name and MRN ' Medical Record Number). * Positions patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary. * Scans patients in time allotted as per department standards. Does not supplant the physician in the sphere of decision making required to establish a diagnosis, but will assist in gathering sonographic and other medical data necessary to reach a medical diagnosis and decision. Ensures that equipment is constantly functional and ready for immediate use. Maintains records and reports on equipment, procedures performed and billing.
