Functions as Lead Instructor for identified courses and cohorts and coordinates programs as assigned. Instructs in all levels of EMS education: courses in the National EMS Education Standards framework, refresher education, and standardized specialty courses.Responsibilities:Instructional ResponsibilitiesDevelops, updates, and delivers course content, including objectives, lesson plans, syllabi, evaluations, and educational tools, ensuring alignment with National EMS Education Standards and current evidence-based practicesDesigns curriculum for various formats: in-person, hybrid, online, and webinarsPosts course materials on the learning platform within required timeframesCoordinates assigned courses, including planning, implementation, and evaluationProvides lectures, supervises skill labs, and serves as a lab instructor as neededMaintains accurate records of courses, students, and program activitiesEvaluates student progress across cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains; provides regular feedback and documents issuesParticipates in test item development, revision, and analysis to meet accreditation standardsReviews student evaluations and patient care reports, offering constructive feedbackClinical & Administrative SupportMaintains communication with clinical sites and preceptors in coordination with the Clinical CoordinatorSupervises students in clinical settings as scheduledOffers limited tutoring and teaches in other programs as requestedEnsures exam security and proper handling of evaluation toolsStays current with state/local EMS regulations, accreditation standards, and institutional policiesMaintains instructor status for standardized courses as agreedPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications:Education & Industry ExperienceAssociate degree required - Bachelor’s degree preferredMinimum 3 years of progressive field/clinical experience as a Paramedic or Emergency NurseDocumented teaching experienceSupervisory experience preferredEMS education program development experience preferred, including learner-centered curriculum and evaluation systemsLicensure/Certification:Licensed Paramedic or Registered Nurse in the program stateNREMT certification preferredInstructor Certifications(required within one year of hire and must remain current):AHA BLS InstructorAHA ACLS InstructorPHTLS or ITLS InstructorPALS, PEPP, or EPC InstructorCompletion of an approved instructor course (per local authority requirements) EEO Statement: Global Medical Response and its family of companies are an Equal Opportunity Employer, which includes supporting veterans and providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with a disability.
