More Information about this Job: Clinical Education Specialist (CES)Full TimeJOB LOCATION: MENIFEE, CAReports to:CES Manager Status: ExemptSUMMARY:Under general direction, oversees Clinical and Education Services activities for the local service area. Represents AMR to local committees, medical and training institutions, and other related agencies. Responsible for the creation, implementation, and tracking of education and quality improvement programs.Assist in recruitment through involvement in area EMS classes and career days.Assist in the development of an orientation program and a system of continuing education.Actively participate in and/or develop a process for the evaluation and/orselection of equipment.Develop education process to include course objectives, examinations, and manuals for use as lesson plans.Conduct orientation classes, instructor certification courses, and other continuing education courses.Work with local physician advisory groups.Participate in clinical aspects of problem resolution.Oversee any clinical requirements related to contracts, agreements, etc.Track and review events in response to complaints and/or compliments relating to medical performance.Conduct clinical quality assurance investigations immediately upon receiving information regarding a possible protocol or standard of care violation. Document findings in writing. Provide timely briefings to CES Manager on incidents and investigations, as appropriate.Identify, develop, and implement quality improvement (QI) programs. In order to assure clinical excellence, programs should include, but are not limited to proactive and retrospective elements of QI concerning clinical call reviews, chart reviews, and trend analysis for both individual and group clinical performance. Such programs should drive the continuing education (CE) process and related coursed offered to field personnel.Responsible for the Field Training Officers (FTOs). This includes, but is not limited to, leading the selection process of FTOs; the monitoring and directing of the FTO program;assisting with development of FTO guidelines and procedures; and coordinating the FTO committee.Represent AMR with local EMS education programs and assure integration with internship and preceptor needs.Serve as a clinical resource for field and management personnel.Assist in the creation/revision of medical policy.Oversee clinical aspects of field performance.Represent the Manager of Clinical and Education Services.Conduct clinical call reviews and investigations.Represents AMR with local EMS education programs.Participate in scheduling third riders.Coordinate evaluations for local paramedic school candidates.Schedule continuing education programs pertinent to field education needs.Work with other CES Specialists to assure standardization of CES programs throughout the service areas.Reviews completed patient care reports for accuracy.Designs, implements, and reviews utilization management plans.Evaluates statistics regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and other billing for review of problem areas.Provides clinical support for documentation and billing personnel.Participates in appeals processes from a clinical perspective.Assists in planning and monitoring managed care utilization review.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Licensing/Certification:High School Diploma or GEDCurrent State Certification as a ParamedicAcceptable driving record REMSA or ICEMA Accreditation.Experience:Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the direct delivery of pre-hospital advanced life support as a Paramedic.Minimum of 1year experience as an Instructor, Preceptor or Field Training Officer.Experience in performing, evaluating, instructing, and coaching all aspects of the delivery of pre-hospital care.Preferred qualifications:BA or BS in business or healthcare related field.BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, BTLS/PHTLS Instructor certificates.Experience with quality improvement initiatives.Ability to conduct statistical analyses via computer.General management experience including financial management and employee supervision. Responsibilities Include: Monitoring the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans (PBIPs) to ensure students receive high-quality, personalized support.Representing the organization with confidence and professionalism during IEP meetings and, when requested by school districts, facilitating IEP team meetings that center student success.Building strong partnerships with parents, caregivers, and district personnel while consistently projecting a positive, solutions-focused image of the organization.Coaching teachers and staff in creating safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environments where students can thrive academically and behaviorally.Ensuring the consistent use of positive, evidence-based teaching strategies by observing classrooms, providing constructive feedback, and celebrating progress.Providing ongoing support to staff in instructional practices, PBIP implementation, and data collection systems that empower students to gain greater independence.Conducting functional behavioral assessments, developing effective PBIPs, and training staff to support student growth across academic, social, vocational, and life skill domains.Guiding teachers in designing effective schedules, managing data systems, and planning student transitions to ensure IEP goals are fully supported.Reviewing classroom data to assess student progress and advising staff on strategies that address emerging needs and celebrate achievements.Supporting learning environments that emphasize skill development in the least restrictive setting, helping students reach their full potential.Modeling excellence in instruction, communication, and problem-solving, demonstrating the value of a data-driven, collaborative, and student-centered approach.Promoting a safe and supportive learning environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards and reinforcing best practices in safety and behavior intervention.Contributing to the overall mission of the organization by performing other duties that enhance student learning and staff success. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study.Master’s degree or higher in special education, applied behavior analysis or a closely related field of study preferred.Meet all state teaching license and/or certification requirements.Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a CA state special education instruction credential.Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) credential preferred.Prior experience working in an educational leadership, school principal, administrator or related position.Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with autism related disabilities, developmental disabilities, emotional disturbance and/or challenging behaviors.Prior experience and highly skilled in providing training, professional development and/or coaching to teachers and education staff.Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's).Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in applied behavior analysis (ABA) preferred.Proven success in developing and implementing effective education plans for students with diverse needs.Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals.Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers and community and/or district partners.Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.
