This position will be full-time, hybrid, and is a salaried position. What You'll DoDevelop implementation project charters for approval by executive management, sponsors, committees, or other decision-making authoritiesMonitor project plans to ensure alignment with goals and objectives, and manage start-up activities such as needs assessments, infrastructure setup, and project team coordination, including the development of RFPsMake operational decisions within the project scope, as determined by the decision-making authorityRecommend changes in project scope, identify and mitigate risk areas, and elevate critical issuesIdentify policy, procedures, and organizational issues, and propose options for determination by decision-making authoritiesDeliver presentations and status reports to executive levelsCommunicate project goals, objectives, impacts, logistics, issues, and status to decision-making authorities, project team members, and other stakeholdersOversee the project budget to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely completionIdentify, procure, and manage project resourcesRecommend staffing levels, supervise and direct team members, define team roles and responsibilities, and provide leadership that fosters realistic expectations, goals, schedules, and work assignmentsResolve obstacles to achieving project goals and delegate tasks effectivelyManage project vendors and consultants to ensure goals are met and oversee quality assurance on deliverablesRecommend departmental support needs and provide post-production support to sustain system and operationsImplement new functionality and business process changes to support statutory changes and requests by process owners. Support change management efforts and oversee the development of training for customers and end-users when neededNegotiate contracts and services with vendors; coordinate and oversee contracts for services and productsWhat You'll NeedRequired:A minimum of 8 years managing large, complex projects, preferably in IT or a related fieldAny combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilitiesExperience in but not limited to the Juvenile space, Care agencies, keeping families together, mission-driven, community-supportive philosophyTypically, significant coursework in project management, management information systems, business administration, public administration, or a closely related fieldExpertise in developing and managing project plans and chartersStrong ability to supervise and direct team members, define team roles and responsibilities, and foster a productive work environmentExcellent skills in delivering presentations and status reports to executive levels and other stakeholdersProficiency in negotiating contracts and services with vendorsA Bachelor's degree in one of the specified areas and experience in a government setting is desirableDepending upon the project scope, experience related to the special project may be desirablePossession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level, including special endorsements as required by the State of California, may be required depending on assignment to perform essential job functionsPhysical DemandsAbility to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standardsSedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitorThe pay range for this position is $135,000 - $165,000 annually (USD). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
