ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network Engineer II to join our team in San Diego, CA. This is an onsite position. Join theNavy's Continuous Training Environment (NCTE)program and contribute to the evolution of warfighter readiness. We provide critical engineering and technical expertise for the U.S. Navy's premierLive, Virtual, Constructive (LVC)training capability. Our work involves seamlessly integrating live training with synthetic systems to create highly realistic and complex global training environments. We also drive the development of advanced representations for joint, theater, and national systems, and model new weapons technologies and emerging threats, ensuring our forces are prepared for any challenge.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Providing network security support to Navy operational and training networks focused specifically on the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN)Ensuring uninterrupted network connectivity to customers and sites by planning and executing the installation of new capabilities, as well as operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting network connectivity and infrastructure on enterprise managed networks including support of multiple network enclaves across classification levelsIdentifying and analyzing systems requirements, developing and maintaining system applications and security, developing and maintaining network configurations, as well as developing and maintaining a disaster recovery planServe as the primary technical authority and SME for all aspects of microwave data link design, implementation, operation, and maintenanceLead the planning, design, and engineering of complex microwave radio networks, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalabilityConduct detailed link budget analysis, path profiling, frequency planning, interference analysis, and capacity planning for new and existing microwave linksCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including network operations, field technicians, project managers, and vendors, to ensure seamless integration and deployment of microwave solutionsConfiguration and Deployment: The ability to set up and deploy new FTD devices and integrate them with theFMC.Policy Management:Experience with creating, editing, and enforcing a variety of policies, including access control rules, intrusion prevention system (IPS) policies, and file/malware policies.Troubleshooting:The ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues related to FTD devices and theFMC, including network connectivity, policy enforcement, and VPN tunnels.Upgrades: Experience with managing the upgrade process for bothFMCand FTD to ensure a smooth transition and minimize downtime.Up to 25% travel required or as neededMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field and a minimum of 5 years relevant network engineering experience OR High School diploma and 11 years of relevant experienceCybersecurity Workforce Framework (CSWF) requirements with current baseline and ComputingEnvironment/OperatingSystem (CE/OS) certificationsMust have IAT-II certification (ex. CompTia Sec+)Knowledge of network standards, protocols, security, and applications; capabilities and applications of network equipment (ex. hubs, routers, switches, bridges, firewalls, servers, transmission media, and/or related hardware); network architecture and infrastructure; LAN/WAN principles and concepts including bandwidth management; network systems design, development, testing, installation, operations, management, and maintenance concepts and methodsExperience with various microwave radio technologies (e.g., E-band, V-band, traditional licensed/unlicensed bands) and relevant industry standards (e.g., 3GPP, ITU-R)Proven proficiency with microwave planning tools (e.g., Pathloss 5.0, Atoll, IQ-Link, Ellipse, UBNT, Mimosa tools) and RF propagation modelingPreferred Qualifications:7+ years of relevant work experience as a network engineer within a U.S. Government environment, DoD strongly preferredMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related fieldActive CCNA certificationExperience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) environment including help desk, customer communication, trouble ticketing, and issue resolutionFamiliarity with cloud-based network management platforms for microwave systems.Clearance Requirements:Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret/ SCI security clearancePhysical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printerThe person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
