The Transition Nursery RN is responsible for providing comprehensive care to newborns during the critical first two hours of life. This role involves attending deliveries, performing resuscitation, conducting thorough assessments, and ensuring the overall well-being of newborns. You will administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor and document newborns’ progress and condition. Additionally, the RN will prepare women for cesarean sections (CS) and manage the recovery process for both vaginal and CS deliveries. The RN will also support the department by stocking supplies and performing various tasks as needed. Cardiac is a medical/telemetry floor taking post op CABG/open heart patients as soon as day 1 following surgery, TAVRs, Watchmen and other post cath-lab intervention patients (stents, AIF, etc.) but they will never have a sheath, they may come to us with a radial band. None of our patients are on vasoactive drips but we do take amio, cardizem and other cardiac drips and do titrate down to wean. Many of our patients have chest tubes.
