All lab pack projects are required to be performed in compliance with Federal/Provincial/Local regulations and our company H&S policies and procedures.*This is a field based, customer-facing position that requires working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.This isnot a laboratory-based Chemist role.Why work for Clean Harbors Health and Safety is our #1 priority, and we live it 3-6-5!Competitive wages for this permanent full-time position. $33.29 /hour as per Operating Engineers CBA.Group RRSP with company matching component.Comprehensive health benefits cover 30 days of full-time employment.Generous paid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursement.Positive and safe work environments.Opportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career.RESPONSIBILITIESEnsuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all timesPrepare computer generated packing lists, labels and manifestsPerform inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance.Inspect storage area and drums for leaks or spills.Inspect drums for compliance with labeling regulations.Collects, segregates, and properly packages waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.Responsible for final preparation and approval of all projects before shipment in accordance with regulations and company policies.Conducts projects/jobs according to site specific provincial, federal and local regulations and health and safety plans.Understand customer specific disposal restrictions/special packaging requirements.Sample and prole of new waste streams or any waste needing analytical testing.Ensures drum count is correct and that drum conditions are shippable in accordance with our company’s policies and procedure.Follow provincial, federal and local compliance regulations and rules.Safely operate vehicles.Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSFull (non GDL) Class 5 Driver’s License is required, with a clean Driver's Abstract.Commercial/Industrial chemical handling experience.Educational background in Chemistry, biology, Environmental Sciences or related highly preferred.Hazardous waste experience is preferred.Experience in a labor-intensive position and working outside in all types of weather conditions.Forklift Certification preferred.Safety Tickets preferred: TDG, WHMIS and First Aid.Attention to detail, able to take and follow directions and multi-task.Ability to work with Window based applications and interact with customers on a daily basis.40-years of sustainability in action.At Clean Harbors, our mission is to create a safer, cleaner environment through the treatment, recycling, and disposal of hazardous materials.
