Position Summary:

Under the team leadership of the General Manager of Post Retail, the Logistics & Salvage Coordinator establishes a salvage system to maximize the department’s vendor base, along with critical reporting, effective production and support the management of vendors to increase profit.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates Goodwill Houston’s Core Values in all actions.

  • Demonstrates professionalism at all times and presents a friendly, cooperative attitude to general public and staff at all times.

  • Ensure 100% customer delight.

  • Maintains salvage records, and up-to-date filing. 

  • Manages through manifest, and inventory control methods or other electronic records to track salvage material, sales and equipment on a daily basis.

  • Maintains a neat and clean office free of clutter, update bulletin boards.

    Job duties will require performing a variety of administrative support functions. These include but are not limited to producing and completing a variety of correspondence and reports as needed; making copies; keeping filing records and distributing information as needed.

  • Manages Transportation uniforms for department, including distribution, receiving and reconciliation of associated expenses.

  • Prepare monthly weight report for leadership outlining landfill salvage and retail weights (as a percentage of our donations).

  • Prepare salvage report showing revenue and a breakdown of categories not in WESA.

  • Prepare landfill costs compared to last year — shows accumulative numbers for both last year and the present.

  • Supports duties associated with Salvage and Transportation:

  • Work as an additional point of contact with Salvage vendors (customers).

  • Works with internal auditor and maintains accurate Salvage related data in a shared file.

  • Track items and record accuracy of production numbers and note sales to show current inventory.

  • Prepare all paperwork for Salvage transactions, including calculating weights, etc.

  • Calculate weights/charges for invoices and credit memos to all Salvage vendors/customers.

  • Schedule pick-ups.

  • Log all pertinent it-formation into spreadsheet to use for daily, weekly, and monthly updates and reports.

  • Maintain Salvage filing system

  • Performs other duties as assigned and as required by General Manager of Post Retail.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

 

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Ability to twist, bend, squat, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment includes exposure to outdoor temperatures and moderate noise levels.

 

Training and Experience:

  • Administrative or customer service experience required.

  • Minimum two years experience in business setting preferred.

  • Proficiency in understanding sales tracking and reporting.

  • Retention improved / Turnover reduced (90days and annual retention)
  • Processes, systems, planning and reporting documentation produced and maintained.
  • Project deliverables completed as assigned
  • Customer feedback / surveys
