Training Operations at NASA (Engineer I)


Specific Job Description:

Looking for a qualified candidate to support a variety of training operations activities in support of Human Spaceflight endeavors. This includes training of flight controllers and other support personnel for future space mission objectives; testing of new operational capabilities; recording events experienced during training sessions; and responding to system failures impacting training activities. Training Operations supports different shift times as required, the candidate should be able to work odd shifts and some weekends on a periodic basis.




Basic Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in engineering, aerospace, mathematics, or computer science. Entry level position with 0-5 years experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, technical, and organizational skills. The candidate must be able to work in a dynamic environment that requires multi-tasking abilities, the ability to operate effectively under stress, and rapid learning abilities. Strong interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication abilities are required for this position. Candidates must be able to apply technical knowledge and operations concepts to exercise effective decision making in a fast-paced operational environment. Candidate must be able to grasp and react to the priorities of a given situation.

Desired Skills:

Familiarity with current NASA human spaceflight activities and proposed future vehicles. Understanding of a variety of computer networks and systems. This position requires multi-tasking skills and the ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal communications skills. Energetic and eager to tackle new tasks and ideas. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
