This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy machinery and other related airport ground handling equipment.
The work of the Mechanic classification includes the following:  Troubleshooting, disassembly, checking and cleaning, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, assembling, installing, servicing, fabricating, or towing any ground equipment while in service or while undergoing overhaul and/or modification.  Certifies for quality of workmanship, including signing mechanical releases on field work.  May be assigned to order, receive, inventory, secure or disburse parts and supplies on or off airport facilities.  May have other Mechanic personnel assigned to assist  in completing an assignment.  Works according to Company regulations and procedures and instructions from lead, supervisor or general manager.  Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures and will communicate with other Company personnel as required in a manner designated by the Company.  Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors’ activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program.  Comply with WFS site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations.  This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Must have Engine (Gas & Diesel), Hydraulics, Electrical; Diagnose and repair malfunctions as needed; Utilize technical drawing and testing equipment; Obtain replacement parts, install and/or make repairs Must be able to perform the following functions in variable weather and environmental conditions: Bend, stoop, and crawl to work in tight, restricted spaces including fuel cells an aircraft belly areas. Push, pull, lift, and parts and components weighing up to 60 pounds in the process of assembling, disassembling, repairing, or installation of these parts and components from a sitting, standing, bending, squatting, or overhead position. Lift and carry tools and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. Drive vehicles weighing up to ten (10) tons (up to forty (40) tons in select assignments) in congested areas requiring good depth perception and ability to distinguish colors red, green, and yellow. Work with color-coded wiring and other components which requires the ability to differentiate colors to include but not limited to red, green, yellow, blue, black, brown, white, and orange. Operate a variety of tools, including power tools, in the process of assembling, disassembling, repairing, and installing parts and components while reaching, twisting, turning, and gripping. Work in a high noise-level environment. Read and interpret printed or computerized maintenance manuals, write legibly to complete forms/paperwork as required. Must be able to regulate own work with little supervision and accomplish tasks on own. Confer with Manager for complex repairs, which require approval. Must provide own tools. Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.

Facilities Equipment Technician
Position Summary The Facilities Equipment Technician is a maintenance technician responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all production and building systems; including, but not limited to, production automation, appliances, and building equipment. This position responds to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action and completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure that systems are operational and are functioning safely and efficiently. This position reports to the Facility Manager.  This position is for 3rd shift from 10 pm - -8:30 am Tuesday - Friday.  On the job training will be done during normal working hours and e the position will transition into the third shift as the permanent shift. Duties and Responsibilities Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities including maintaining/managing building equipment and systems (e.g. HVAC equipment and electrical systems) and performing production equipment troubleshooting and repair Daily responsibilities include performing preventative and reactive maintenance on any facility system and assisting manufacturing technicians (MTs) with process and machinery repairs and improvements Supports a cleanroom manufacturing and non-sterile lab environment, which utilize manual, automated, and semi-automated equipment in a critical environment Develops preventive maintenance schedules and/or procedures Maintains daily equipment, facility, and HVAC inspections Promptly responds to requests for repairs and work orders and include parts and inventory used Solves technical issues by identifying root cause(s) and identifying both short-term and long-term countermeasures Inspects the quality of third party and/or MT repairs Responsible for inventory control, ordering of replacement parts, tools, and supplies through purchasing. Conducts physical parts inventories Records and documents working history on all equipment for facilities and engineering via a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Leads non-supervisory employees and other staff that may include contractors, consultants, and/or temporary employees Manages projects and develops associated documentation. Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns Ability to perform under limited supervision Requires a flexible work schedule which may include nights and weekends to support operating schedule and the needs of the facility Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures Effectively communicates with all Empower staff and internal maintenance team
