
The Process Engineer is responsible for improving production processes to ensure efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role leads cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing workflows, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold safety and quality standards. This position plays a key role in developing best practices, training team members and supporting daily operations to achieve production targets.
Job Duties Include:
- Partner with Operations Management to plan, coordinate, and implement process improvement projects.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and maintenance teams to resolve production bottlenecks and enhance efficiency.
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure timely and effective project execution, including follow-up assessments to verify results.
- Provide progress updates and project reports to leadership from initiation through completion.
- Support employee training initiatives, including equipment operation, safety protocols, and CNC router programming.
- Develop, implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and repeatability across production processes.
- Serve as a Production Supervisor when needed, leading crews to meet production goals.
- Assist with CNC router programming and ensure proper application of programming standards.
- Oversee tooling procurement and utilization of routers across the facility.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with company and customer requirements.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Safely operate various hand tools as required.
- Model and enforce safety standards, including proper PPE use (protective suit, respirator, etc.) and compliance with SDS requirements.
- Be punctual, prepared, and ready to work at scheduled start times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in wood furniture or manufacturing industry.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team.
- Successful track record in managing projects from initiation through completion.
- Working knowledge of industry-related tools and equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new software, including Insight 2020.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Wood Furniture, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year in a leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with tooling, routers, and basic hand tools (e.g., expanders).
- Familiarity with Insight 2020 and related manufacturing software.
Physical & Mental Demands:
Sitting for long periods of time. Walking, speaking, hearing and seeing. Listen and observe the environment for hazard prevention. Use hands for tools and typing. Semi-frequently lift up to 50 lbs. Some tasks may require the employee to bend, stoop, twist, and turn.
Working Environment:
Indoor Production environment, hot in Summer, temperature controlled in Winter. Moving machinery, i.e. forklifts, moveable cards, etc. Uneven ground where cart tracks are identified. Air is dusty in some areas that may require additional PPE. Sound level decibels vary, with some areas requiring protection. Office area temperature controlled in all seasons, clean air and sound level decibels lower than 85.
