Business Systems Analyst
An experienced Business Systems Analyst is the heart of the business, supporting growth and efficiency throughout the organization. UPS is looking for a forward-thinking and ambitious Business System Analyst to help our group discover, propose, and develop new technology that will not only facilitate smooth shipping operations for The UPS Store franchisees, but will also bridge the gap between UPS and The UPS Store customers.
Our Business Systems Analysts tie our technology to our business needs as they determine how new tech solutions will affect The UPS Store franchisees and their customers. Their analysis ensures we maximize the positive impact of new technology across the business. As a UPS Business Systems Analyst, you are a problem solver that enables the organization to achieve its goals and bring value to our UPS teams and customers!
About this role:
This position elicits and analyzes business needs for complex projects, determines the impact and integration of solutions to business processes and systems, and validates that solutions fit within the long-term strategic vision. He/She serves as a liaison between the business community and Information Services (I.S.). The Business System Analyst ensures that BSA work products conform to quality and content standards, and stays current on industry best practices, standards, trends, tools and techniques. He/She collaborates with stakeholders and management to establish and implement processes that enhance efficiency and user/customer experience.
The successful candidate should have 2-4+ years of Business Systems Analysis or equivalent skill set. The candidate should have experience eliciting, creating, and editing business and functional requirements.
Responsibilities:
Applies Business Systems Analysis Processes
- Assists project manager with creating work plans to help ensure milestones are met.
- Aspires to be the subject matter expert in system functionality.
- Strives for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to quality and work product standards and best practices.
- Participates in testing efforts to identify missing requirements and defects to ensure the end-product is built to satisfaction.
- Assists in conducting root cause analysis of defects and provides direction for addressing system issues.
- Defines and implements system solutions and executes in a hybrid waterfall-agile delivery model by developing detailed functional requirements and modifying/embellishing the requirements as necessary throughout the development process.
- Generates and distributes project summaries to assist with release communications.
- Assists with the development of training materials.
- Proactively documents existing functionality and/or procedures where none currently exist.
Elicits and Analyzes Business Needs
- This position translates business requirements into detailed functional requirements and manages them throughout the development lifecycle.
- Analyzes, comprehends, and applies system knowledge to develop solutions that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.
- Proactively coordinates and facilitates work sessions to gather relevant information for each project.
- Actively develops and presents proposed solutions in a thorough and comprehensible manner to ensure appropriate level of understanding for the project stakeholders.
- Assists stakeholders with eliciting and developing their business requirements.
- Identifies, addresses, and escalates action items, risks and issues associated with each project.

- Experience with Business Process Analysis, variety of elicitation techniques, MS Office, Visio
- Knowledge of waterfall and agile methods utilized in software development and development of User Stories
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and work in a cross functional team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Salary Range : $77,280- $96,660
This compensation range is based on skills, experience, your work location and comparison to other employees already in this role. Pay Range:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $80,460.00/year to $130,800.00/year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate’s work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
