Description:

Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy, will present a variety of free, introductory computer classes this month. The classes will consist of a hands-on introduction to basic skills for people who would like to learn more about using these computer programs. All computer classes will take place in the Computer Lab of the library.

 

MS Word: Resumés & Cover Letters” will take place on Wednesday, January 19, beginning at 2:00 pm. Learn how to use the templates in MS Word to create resumés and cover letters. Get tips on inserting and organizing information into the template, saving, and printing.

 

The classes are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Classes & Events,” select “Cinco Ranch Branch Library,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-395-1311, or by visiting the library.

Fort Bend County Libraries’ Adult Services staff will present a variety of free, introductory computer classes this month. The classes will consist of a hands-on introduction to basic skills for people who would like to learn more about using these computer and technology programs.

This class presents a basic, hands-on introduction to using computers.

  • Introduction to eMedia – Tuesday, January 11, 10:00-11:00 am.

Learn about the different eMedia options (eBooks, eAudiobooks, music, magazines, and streaming movies) that are available through the FBCL website without ever leaving home. This class will introduce OverDrive/Libby, Hoopla, and Flipster. Learn about login, borrowing, and returning digital items; borrowing limits; and check-out periods.

Have you been searching for a job and not having any luck? Maybe it’s time for a change in your game plan. A free, “Job-Search Survival Workshop” will take place online on Monday, November 7 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. This online workshop will be live streamed; it will NOT be in person.

The workshop is designed to help all job-hunters, from those applicants applying for a position at a fast-food restaurant to executives looking for a position in a large company. The tips that are presented can help any applicant plan a more efficient job hunt and make a more favorable impression.
