Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• Must have at least 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience.
• Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.
• BSN completion preferred
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

Additional Details:
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.
Unit Details:
IMC/PCU patients sometimes board in the ICU.
Patient assignments will be at a higher ratio (e.g.1:3) when IMC/PCU patients are included.

Acute respiratory failure with hypoxia
Post-cardiac arrest care
Acute shock requiring vasopressors
Diabetic ketoacidosis
Acute renal failure
Delirium tremens
Stroke/Acute CVA, post-thrombolytic care
Post-op care (primarily general & vascular)
- Special Procedures:
Management of patients on ventilators, Bipap, & High Flow Nasal cannula devices.
Assists provider with intubation, central line placement, chest tube placement.
Management of vasoactive infusions, sedation, & other therapeutics such as heparin, paralytics, antiarrhythmics.
Special Requests:
No RTO the first two weeks of an assignment.
Previous Employment Requirements:
Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
7 days maximum time off
2 references from last 3 years (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission
