Mantech seeks a skilled and motivated Oracle Cloud Engineer to join our IT infrastructure and cloud services team in support of a big data platform transformation in Reston, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) solutions to support enterprise applications and business operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud environments, leveraging your deep knowledge of Oracle products and cloud architecture best practices. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design & Deploy: Architect and deploy scalable and secure solutions onOracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Automation & Optimization: ImplementInfrastructure as Codeusing Terraform and Ansible to automate cloud provisioning.
- Database & Storage Management: Manage Oracle Cloud databases (Autonomous Database, Exadata) and storage solutions (Object Storage, Block Volumes).
- Networking & Security: ConfigureVCNs, subnets, load balancers, and security listsfor cloud applications.
- Monitoring & Performance Tuning: Use monitoring tools to optimize cloud resources and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
- Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Designbackup, replication, and failoverstrategies for critical workloads.
- Cloud Cost Optimization: Monitor resource utilization and implementcost-saving strategiesto optimize OCI spending.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure compliance with industry security standards (NIST 800-53) and implement best practices forIAM policies and access controls.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 6 years of cloud experience and bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, or related discipline OR 14 years of relevant experience with no degree
- Proven experience with IaaS services including compute, storage, networking, FaaS, identity, and access management. Strong understanding of cloud architecture and best practices for deploying scalable and secure cloud environments
- Experience with Oracle databases (on-premise and cloud), including provisioning, configuration, backup, and recovery
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Familiarity with Terraform or other IaC (Infrastructure as Code) tools for managing OCI resources
- Solid understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud security principles
- Ability to monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in OCI environments
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- OCI certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate/Professional)
- Experience migrating on-premise applications and databases to Oracle Cloud
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud ERP, HCM, or other Oracle SaaS applications
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) in OCI environments
- Experience integrating OCI with third-party services or hybrid cloud architectures
- Experience with other public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for multi-cloud strategy
- Understanding of Oracle Autonomous Database and Exadata Cloud Services
- Exposure to monitoring tools like Oracle Cloud Monitoring, Grafana, or Prometheus
- Agile or Scrum project experience

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office
machinery, etc. - Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may
involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in
these situations.
