Job Purpose:

Proactively sensing and analyzing supplier quality and delivery management characteristics to minimize parts related production impact.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Take initiative to carry out proactive sensing/ Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) of top focus (8-10) downtime and quality impact suppliers. Managing supplier KPI’s, communication method, approach, reporting.
  • Manage activity related to specific top focus suppliers’ high delivery risk areas. Set priorities with supplier management to implement c/m’s & improve characteristics (Production Planning, Forecasting, Internal communication/systems, lead-times, quality issues, OEE, Manpower/resources)
  • Respond to crisis suppliers with “at the spot verification” to understand, document and report crisis situation as well as countermeasures to mitigate impact to AHM.
  • Support TeamLeads on monthly reporting of top concerns (Proactive and Crisis activity)
  • Actively collaborate with supplier, purchasing, in house departments to solve complex issues related to downtime or potential downtime
  • Complete all required training including Team Leader initiated OJT related to SD/QD assurance process development.
  • Prioritize and balance workload to minimize impact/for overall efficiency

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent of related experience in Quality, Engineering, Delivery or Supply Chain
  • 4 years of experience within Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, R&D or related experience
  • Complex problem analysis skills, detailed drawing interpretation, ability to summarize problems effectively, understanding of Honda Delivery and/or Quality systems knowledge, ability to prioritize based on potential impact.

Working Conditions:

  • Honda & Supplier office/manufacturing environment. Professionalism/acting as a Honda ambassador at the supplier.
  • Travel may be unplanned and extensive at times due to Crisis related activity 25-75%.
  • Overtime as required to complete the requirements/communicate to responsible NCM/SCM associates/minimize the risk to production
  • Occasional weekend work
