We’re seeking a future team member for the role ofVice President, Database Engineer IIto join our Global Fund Accountingteam. This role is located in Pittsburgh.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Develop, test, and maintain software solutions using Python and other AI-relevant programming languages.
- Design, build, and optimize AI models and algorithms based on business requirements.
- Write PL/SQL scripts and procedures for data extraction and insertion to Oracle database.
- Collaborate effectively within Agile teams to deliver iterative software improvements.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to enhancing development practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and data-related issues promptly.
- Stay current with AI technologies and database management best practices.
- Communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders to align on technical solutions.
- Consult with internal business groups to provide application software development services and technical support in complex situations.
- Lead the technical design, development, and documentation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
- Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, and system interfaces.
- Coordinate coding, testing, implementation, and documentation to ensure expected application performance levels are achieved.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 7-9 years of experience in software development; experience in securities or financial services industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning.
- Experience with AI frameworks and libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or scikit-learn.
- Knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data visualization techniques.
- Relevant experience with PL-SQL, including index strategies, performance tuning, optimization, stored procedures, and complex SQL for large-scale databases.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and tools for AI deployment.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Skills in Agile development methodologies and collaborative teamwork.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
- Financial Services background preferred, specifically knowledge of fund accounting, security reference and corporate action data.
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), programming, test plan and test data review, and application of security and privacy principles.
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical thinking, and teamwork skills.
