Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
Experience:
• 18 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• Must have at least 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
• Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Shift & Scheduling: Every Other Weekend. No On-Call,
Types of Patients on Unit: Adults, Geriatrics
Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: 4B is a general med-surg and overflow stroke unit. We serve the adult to elderly population. We see a variety of diagnosis, including respiratory illness, infection, stroke, trauma patients and surgical overflow.
We perform a variety of nursing treatments-dressing changes, including VACs, chest tubes, IV medications, central line care, foley catheter care, drain care, tube feedings and wound care along with lab and test interpretation to assist with diagnosis and treatments of the patients.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills/Experience: Telemetry- remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams.
Cardiovascular Case Skills/Experience: Post Angiogram, Post MI.
Endocrine /Metabolic Case Skills/Experience: IV insulin protocols. Gastrointestinal Case Colostomy Care, Feeding tube care and management.
Genitourinary/Renal Case Skills/Experience: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure.
IV therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs.
Medication Skills/Experience: Heparin, Insulin, PCA.
Neurological/Psychiatric Case Skills/Experience: CVA, Pre/Post Neuro Surgery. Ortho trauma experience. Surgical drain experience.
Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oral suctioning, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank. Professional Knowledge and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac.
Previous charge experience. Community Hospital Experience. Teaching Hospital Experience
Equipment Used on Unit: Basic - Hoyer, Bladder Scanner Is Used On The Unit.
Parking Cost: parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation.
Previous Employment Requirements: Any PERM or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler
