Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• Must have at least 18 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience.
• 3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
• Trauma Level 2 experience is required from the last 2 years
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a New Hampshire license or compact license (required for submission).
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

Additional Details:
Recent experience at a level 1 trauma center is required.
No block scheduling.
Sterile Processing Tech only: Must have experience at a similar sized hospital (minimum 400 bed size)
Surgical Technologist only: Must have Level 1 experience or comparable Level 2 experience (in a larger city/large bed size)

36 bed adult surgical unit that cares for primarily orthopedic and trauma patients as well as other specialties such as plastics, general surgery. Also serving as the surgical COVID unit. A very busy unit where mobilizing and rehabilitating patients is the main goal. We also have two negative pressure rooms that can accommodate patients who are being ruled out for tuberculosis or who have a diagnosis of active tuberculosis or shingles. In addition, we are the medicine overflow unit for patients with Cystic Fibrosis, so our population can be varied.

The most common diagnosis on the unit: Hips, knees, trauma, TBI’s, Lami’s, skin grafts, new quads, new paras. Travelers need to have ortho trauma experience. Level I Trauma Center experience is preferred, but several years of Level II Trauma center experience is acceptable. On 3 West we utilize our LPNs as support to the RNs (Team nursing model of 2 RNs, 1 LPN and 1 LNA), overseeing 10 patients, giving medication, doing focused assessments, admitting/discharging/educating patients under the direction of the RN. Our LPNs play an important role, with the RN, to help support our LNA vacancies. We are a fast-paced environment.
