Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
• Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Additional Details:
Scheduling: Expected to work every other weekend, every other holiday where applicable.
Block booking and Schedule patterns are based on department needs.
Acute Care - Required
Shift & Scheduling: No Call.
Every other weekend (Saturday / Sunday on Day Shift and either Friday / Saturday or Saturday / Sunday on night shift to follow unit patterns)
Every Other Holiday
Float: May be asked to float to any Gen Med unit throughout hospital. Travelers Float First.
Orientation: Travelers will have 1st day Epic training and HealthStream work, then will receive 2 12-hr. shifts with unit preceptor
Required Skills / Experience: Peds Experience
All RN’s has competency to general medical nursing
2 years Med/surg experience
Preferred Skills / Experience: General medical Level of Care experience
Unit Details: Reporting to the Short Stay Unit and Discharge Hospitality Center Unit Patient Care Manager
SSU is currently a 13 Bed unit, we have been approved/ plan to expand to up to an additional 10 beds in new expanded location
7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2025, 12/24/2025, 12/31/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 1
1 reference from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission
1 reference from last 3 years (Any reference type) - required for submission
