Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• Must have at least 22 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.
• Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.
• Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Job Duration: Can do 13 weeks, or up to 1/17 end date. Manager preference is to end 1/3, 1/10 or 1/17 to assist with holiday coverage. Will prioritize these candidates.
Orientation: 72 Hours
Shift & Schedule:Rotating Night (19:00 - 07:30) / Day (07:00 - 19:30)
Block Schedules: No
If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs.
Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.
No set schedule. No set weekends, No block schedule. The facility determines the complete schedule. Could possibly end up working every weekend.
Floating: To other MedSurg Oncology units
RTO: RTO required with submission, must be built into contract

Type of Patients on Unit: The majority of patients served on 19 James are admitted with the following patient care needs:
• Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration
• Soft tissue malignancy receiving diagnostic services, chemotherapy and symptom management.
• Symptom management secondary to disease related treatment or progression.
• Management of comorbidities.
Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
The most common diagnoses include all subtypes of the following:
1) Breast Cancer
2) Lung Cancer
3) Prostate Cancer
4) Pancreatic Cancer
5) Colon Cancer
6) Esophageal Cancer
7) Sickle Cell Crises
8) Encounter for antineoplastic chemotherapy
Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics
Unit Details: 36 Rooms, 36 Beds
Daily Census: 36
Equipment Used on Unit: B450 monitors GE telemetry system / Bladder Scanner / Alaris pumps / Stryker beds
Previous Employment Requirement: Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
