Summary:

Responsible for the oversight and coordination of all formal clinical education programming.Responsible for directing the planning, developing, and administering clinical educational programs to meet the learning needs of all staff.Responsible for the identification of organizational clinical training needs and for the development and oversight of curriculum development.Responsible for planning and facilitating charge nurse and preceptor developmental leadership programs for the organization.Communicates with nursing leadership in regard to educational needs and provides direction for the development of instructional programs for the organization.Works as a collaborative member of the education department to provide training

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts an ongoing needs assessment with the clinical leadership group and plans and coordinates the development of educational programs as needed. Short and long-term goals identified, and priorities set according to established needs.
  • Oversees, guides, and directs the development of the annual clinical education plans for the organization based on needs assessment.
  • Performance management of staff, including evaluation of teaching methods, delivery, training, content, and course evaluation.
  • Develops and implements clinical education and training policies and procedures that effectively improve the organization’s effectiveness.
  • Provides leadership and direction to designated programs as needed.
  • Participates in the ongoing coordination and development of the medical-surgical residency and ECG program
  • Supports organizational-wide initiatives for continued education in advance cardiac life support and basic life support as an instructor
  • Participates in team projects, meetings and community events as needed. Accepts special assignments in regards to coordination and directing the educational process.
  • Involved in the facility process improvement initiatives and contributes by participating in projects identified based on areas of need.
  • Supports the organization wide goals toward the five pillars of excellence and service goals
  • Coordinates training requests with the identified goals of the nursing leadership and director of education
  • Effectively markets and promotes education in the organization as part of the Strategic Plan.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • RN License in state of employment or compact
  • BLS
