MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Research Analyst to join our team in Stafford, VA. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting Marine Corps mission engineering initiatives by aligning Modeling, Simulation, Analysis, and Wargaming (MS&A) activities with warfighting experimentation and joint interoperability efforts. You will work closely with stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and execute high-impact projects that directly influence operational readiness and decision-making.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The Research Analyst role supports in-depth evaluation of Marine Corps warfighting concepts and technologies through rigorous modeling and analytical methods. This position contributes directly to data-informed decision-making and capability integration efforts.
- Conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis of Marine Corps warfighting concepts, operations, and technologies using modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) tools.
- Interprets simulation outputs to identify trends, assess interoperability, and provide data-driven insights to enhance warfighting effectiveness.
- Supports Naval Capabilities Integration Process (NCIP) initiatives by analyzing joint capability impacts and integration of Marine and Naval systems.
- Develops and communicates findings through analytical reports, briefings, and visualizations to inform operational and strategic decisions.
- Collaborates with engineers, warfighters, and subject matter experts to ensure analytical accuracy, while staying current on emerging methodologies and concepts
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience conducting quantitative analysis and developing analytical models.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related analytical discipline. Additional 2 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Proficiency in statistical software and programming tools such as R, Python (Pandas/NumPy), SAS, or SPSS.
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools, as well as data visualization techniques and platforms.
- Familiarity with database systems (e.g., SQL) and working knowledge of machine learning techniques is beneficial.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Marine Corps warfighting concepts, doctrine, and military operational planning.
- Understanding of mission engineering processes.
- Experience with military intelligence analysis techniques and their application to operational assessments.
- Strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and a demonstrated capacity to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex findings to diverse audiences.
Clearance Requirements:
- This role requires an active DoD TS/SCI Clearance with SAP eligibly.
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
