Additional Information About the Role

BJC HealthCare System is now hiring a PRN Registered Vascular Sonographer for Barnes Jewish West County Outpatient Medical Building (1020 North Mason, office building #3, suite 130 St. Louis, MO)

Position Details:

  • PRN / as Needed (Dayshift Hours): Tuesday & Wednesdays (6 hour shifts) - Total 12hrs/week
  • Hours of Operation:7:30am-4pm
  • NO weekends, holidays, or call shifts!!!
  • Outpatient (West County)
  • Perform vascular Studies: carotid, UE & LE venous, ABI, UE & LE segmental study with and without exercise, LE & UE arterial duplex
  • Assist with vascular accreditation & work independently with cardiologist support over the phone

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or Trade School equivalency (or higher level of education)
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or equivalent

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience (highly preferred)
  • If you have experience in one of the following areas, you could be a good fit: Registered Sonographer, Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Ultrasound Technician, Ultrasound Technologist, or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Abdominal, Vascular, imaging, radiology

Overview

The Washington University Heart Care Institute in West County offers outpatient services including cardiac catheterization, cardiovascular diagnostic services, cardiac rehabilitation and wellness programs. Located on Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital's campus, the Heart Care Institute in West County operates Monday through Friday during normal business hours. The services are closed weekends and holidays. The building is centrally located in Creve Coeur in a beautiful park-like setting.


Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Registered Vascular Sonographer performs a variety of tests to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Exams include, but not limited to, carotid imaging, peripheral plethysmography, doppler wave form, segmental pressure, venous and arterial imaging, and thoracic outlet studies. May also perform vascular procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Performs vascular ultrasound imaging examinations and ensures proper documentation of procedures.
  • Performs vascular studies independently, may perform studies on-call, portable exams, and at other sites as required by work area.
  • Ensures proper function and readiness of all equipment.
