Job Summary and Qualifications
The Surgical Technologist First Assistant (CSTFA) provides care during the perioperative phase and maintains a high level of communication, collaboration, and interaction with physicians and other health team members. Will perform CSFA interventions under the direction and supervision of the operating surgeon in accordance with the NBSTSA and state scope of practice requirements consistent with the mission of the hospital.
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Current certification with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or American Board of Surgical Assists Required, CSTFA preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required
- Completing of coursework in First Assistant including didactic and preceptor training required
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
