Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required from any number of months

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

  • Shift & Scheduling:
  • Every other weekend required.
  • Start date: 3-4 weeks out per compliance tier

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience, Teaching Hospital Experience, Community Hospital Experience, LTAC Experience

  • Required Credentials:
  • Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.
  • No medical marijuana cards accepted.
  • Will need to pass Relias EKG exam. Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required
  • Government issued ID required

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Unit patients who are waiting to be admitted into the hospital in patient unit. We start their care in the Emergency Department until the bed is available. Interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, peripheral line care/management, picc line management, starting IVs, heparin protocols, manager cardiac drips – no triation, pca, thrombolytic agents, substance withdrawal, ortho trauma, traction, nasal cannula, oxygen fact masks, portable oxygen tank, isolation precautions.

  • o North Surface Lot-$73 (price and availability may vary)
  • o Clayton Ave. Building Southeast Lot- $63 (price and availability may vary)
  • o Clayton Taylor Garage- $73 (price and availability may vary)
  • • For orientation: park in the Laclede Garage (4929 Forest Park Ave, St. Louis Mo. 63108) for which there is a $15.00 charge. Pull a parking ticket and take with you. Barnes does not validate or reimburse for the charge. Wear scrubs.
  • • If you are working a straight night shift: If you are working straight night shift, there is no charge for parking, and you may park in the employee parking (you will receive parking information during orientation).
  • • If you will be working a day/night rotation: you will have to obtain a parking pass for which there is a $70.00 fee per month. The garage that you will be parking in will be Clayton/Taylor Ave location. Bring your license plate number with you on your first day.

Previous Employment Requirements: Travelers can stay for a period of 12 months. Must take a 6 month break in service after 12 months
