What You’ll Do

  • General Duties-Oversee the development and maintenance of data models, dashboards, reports, and performance metrics to support key business decisions. Ensure accurate, consistent, and automated reporting through well-defined policies and procedures, providing actionable insights into core operations and performance.
  • Analytics & Reporting-Serve as the organization’s analytics expert, partnering with the Service Lines to identify growth opportunities and improve financial performance. Monitor fiscal health across all corporations, analyze budget vs. actual results, and support action plans for variances. Provide in-depth analysis of revenue, yield, payor mix, and aging accounts, and collaborate with revenue cycle leaders to enhance reporting, metrics, and overall revenue cycle efficiency. Deliver both regular and ad-hoc analysis to guide data-driven decision-making and prioritize high-impact initiatives.
  • Grant Administration- Oversee grant administration by managing the full organizational grants process, with a focus on post-award coordination. Collaborate with key personnel to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and private grant regulations. Advise the CFO, MEC Executive Director, and other leaders on best practices in budgeting, proposal development and submission, and ensure timely financial reporting and deliverables to external sponsors.
  • Budgeting-Assisting in the development of annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with management. Support leadership in financial planning, monitor performance against budgets, and analyze variances to identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Strategic Planning & Quality-Support the development of strategic and annual plans, and lead the creation, review, and approval of financial proformas for new programs and initiatives. Collaborate with leadership to anticipate future resource needs across people, technology, and budget.
  • Financial Reporting-Regularly present accurate, timely financial reports to internal and external stakeholders. Monitor financial performance, keep senior leadership informed, and collaborate across departments including Accounting and Revenue Management.

Work Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. This role requires on-site presence at our Grand Rapids office three days each week.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting required; advanced credentials such as an MBA, Master’s in Finance or Accounting, CPA, or CMA are preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Accounting, Business, or Finance-related roles.
  • Advanced understanding of financial and ERP systems, especially Adaptive (Workday Planning)and strong technical skills, including experience with software implementations and accounting/reporting tools.
  • Deep understanding of business and financial planning within the healthcare industry, including physician and hospital claims, professional fee reimbursement, and payer contracts (commercial and government).
  • Proficient in financial modeling, budgeting, and due diligence processes, with experience using data dashboards and databases to inform decisions.
