Experience:
• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience is required from the last 4 years.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• COVID booster required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Required Skills/Experience:
- Must be proficient reading & interpreting tele strips.
- RNs required to titrate drips: Titrate: heparin, morphine
Required Credentials: Prior to acceptance, the dysrhythmia exam (basic) through UNA is required to be sent along with acceptance. This must be completed within 24-48 hrs. We can accept the Relias basic Dysrhythmia exam within the last 12 if the traveler has previously taken the exam.
Types of Patients on Unit: Many post-ops; ortho, lap chole, general Surgicals. Also have psych patients with sitters on case by case basis.
Unit Details:
- Beds 37 beds, 12 beds are tele rated
- Nurse Patient Ratios 1:4-5. Tele patients are 1:4
Previous Employment Requirements: Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year. Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered.
Special Requests: Block scheduling is generally not available.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Schedules are out 4 weeks.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Rotate in with core staff
Floating Requirements:
- Floating to other MedSurg floors is common. Potential to also float to the ER for ER hold patients.
- All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.
- First to float.
Facility holidays: 01/01/2025, 11/27/2025, 12/25/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
