Experience:
• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience is required from the last 4 years.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Holidays: Rotate in with core staff. OT and extra shifts are available. Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks. Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves “available” for extra shifts and make trades with other staff. Block scheduling is generally not available.
Previous Employment Requirements: Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year. Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered.
Required Credentials: Prior to acceptance, the Dysrhythmia exam (basic) through UNA is required to be sent along with acceptance. This must be completed within 24-48 hrs. Please note it’s pass or fail and they get two attempts (test A should be assigned first and if not passed, test B should be assigned for the retake). A screenshot showing the number of attempts is also required. You’ll need to set your traveler up for this exam immediately. We can accept the Relias basic Dysrhythmia exam within the last 12 if the traveler has previously taken the exam. If your traveler fails the 2nd attempt, they will be made DNU for 6 months with CommonSpirit AZ and Sac.
Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
Floating Requirements: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare but can happen.
Unit Details: Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
Types of Patients on Unit: Bariatrics, abdominal plasty, mestectomy, short stay elective postops. Travelers oriented to surgeons specifics’ protocols. Also OB overflow couplets, OB RNs float to cover these.
Facility holidays: 01/01/2025, 11/27/2025, 12/25/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
