ManTech seeks a motivated and career-oriented LinuxSystems Administrator to join our team in Laurel, MD. You will be part of a dedicated team delivering enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global workforce that supports a wide range of national defense missions. This role directly supports the Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organizationthe foundation of all Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) for MPO.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2/3 (Escalation) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
  • Identify and resolve performance and capacity issues in Linux systems, and support hardware-related problem resolution and dispatching
  • Deliver detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
  • Install operating system software, troubleshoot system issues, maintain system integrity, configure network components, and implement OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance
  • Must be able to create accounts, reset passwords, and provide help desk customer service via phone, tickets or in person
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule between 6:00am-6:00pm and may be assigned to an evening patching schedule

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience OR Associate’s degree with 15 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 20 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with configuring, maintaining and modernizing a Linux OS environment
  • Experience with patching Linux OS environments to meet security compliance requirements
  • IAT II certification (DoD 8140 required within 60 days of starting employment. Acceptable certifications include CCNA-Security/CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/ or SSCP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with configuring, scripting, and managing Unix, RHEL and Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with Scanboy
  • Familiarity with JIRA ticketing system
  • Familiarity using LatteART
  • Familiarity with Enclave environments

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to move, carry, and deliver workstations from inside the office to customer desks
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Must communicate with co-workers, management, and customers via email, phone, or virtual meetings, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
