HVAC Maintenance Technician

Location: Cheyenne, WY
Schedule: Day Shift

What this job involves:

This position focuses on maintaining and monitoring facility systems with emphasis on HVAC, mechanical, and electrical equipment. You'll be responsible for preventative and general maintenance tasks, responding to service requests, and ensuring building systems operate efficiently while adhering to safety standards and campus procedures.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Performing preventative maintenance on HVAC, adiabatic cooling, and air conditioning systems
  • Monitoring and maintaining heating, ventilation equipment, pumps, valves, piping and filters
  • Completing service requests accurately and expediently
  • Evaluating building systems to improve performance and operational efficiency
  • Monitoring quality of maintenance work performed by outside contractors
  • Participating in emergency response procedures and safety training programs
  • Ensuring all work is performed using proper safety equipment and procedures

Desired experience and technical skills:

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years strong HVAC background experience
  • Minimum 4 years experience in electrical and HVAC trades, including rooftop units
  • Minimum 4 years experience with backup systems (generator and UPS)
  • Knowledge of building automation, water treatment, and fire life safety systems
  • Familiarity with computers and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to walk long distances across campus
  • Capability to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally

Preferred:

  • CFC Certification

Compensation: $29-35/hr
