Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• COVID booster required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Orientation: 12 Hours
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend - 4 weekend shifts minimum in 4 weeks period
Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
First to float.
References: Charge references are accepted. 1 must be from within 12 months, 1 from within 3 years worked
Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed
Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years).
Managers will make the final call on scheduling
Prior to acceptance, the Dys Exam (Basic) through UNA is required, along with acceptance. Must be completed within 24-48 hours. The exam is pass / fail.”
Travelers will get 2 attempts
Relias basic Dys exam within the last 12mo if the traveler has previously taken may be accepted.
Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
OT and extra shifts are available.
Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it.
Schedules are out 4 weeks.
Block scheduling is generally not available
Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen
Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor
Patient Types: Medical / Surgical ICU. Non STEMIs, CVA, MOF, Sepsis, resp failure, post ops with complications. TEEs and bronchs common bedside procedures. Comfort care patients are also common and stay in ICU, must be comfortable with this
Facility holidays: 12/25/2025, 01/01/2025, 11/27/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
