Department/Unit Summary
Oversee and analyze stroke-related data to ensure compliance with TJC and NM ReTRAC standards. Co-chairs the hospital Stroke Committee, prepares statistical reports for audits and reviews, and presents data at various meetings. Abstracts and evaluates medical records, including those of re-admitted patients, and identifies program needs in collaboration with hospital leadership. Coordinates stroke education for staff, physicians, patients, and the community. Ensures patient safety and adherence to hospital policies, supports staff development, and serves as a mentor and resource. Works with the quality team to enhance patient outcomes and manages stroke certification applications.
How youll contribute
Collaborates with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process; provides professional nursing care to patients, including conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records.

Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelors degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Three (3) years clinical nursing experience in Neuroscience, Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine, or acute Med/Surg.
