Experience:
• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• COVID booster required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Every other weekend
Modules are required done before start. Modules take 3-4 hours -not billable
Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year. Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered.
Prior to acceptance, the DYS Exam through relias is required along with acceptance. Must be completed within 24-48 hrs. It’s pass or fail and they get 2 attempts (test a should be assigned first, test b should be assigned for the retake). A screenshot showing the number of attempts is required. We can accept the Relias Dys exam within the last 12mo if the traveler has previously taken.
If your traveler fails the 2nd attempt, they will be made DNU for CommonSpirit AZ and Sac
This position will float between ICU & ER - They need experience in both areas to be considered
Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.
Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Primarily medical ICU common diagnoses.
Additional Notes: ICU has a horseshoe layout. Good place for a basic ICU RN traveler. PACU is adjacent to ICU.
Facility holidays: 12/25/2025, 01/01/2025, 11/27/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
