Job Summary and Qualifications
- Under the general direction of the Director of Radiology and in coordination with the CNO, coordinates patient care and staffing needs for the Radiology Department including Diagnostic, Mammography, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Angio and Nuclear Medicine.
- Assists with Gamma Knife patients following appropriate screening and training. May assist with CAPPS patients following orientation to that area
- Ensures that patient care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, applicable state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice, and the generic and Radiology Department procedures and protocols.
- Manages resources in a fiscally responsible manner including staff assignments. Acts as resource and mentor to staff. Assists in call coverage to support the department’s requirements.
- Works closely with the Radiology Director on patient safety and quality issues. The Radiology Charge RN works directly with the radiologists to facilitate a review of films, reports, H & P and lab values on those patients scheduled for various types of invasive procedures to insure examinations are appropriate and complete.
- The Radiology Charge RN instructs and aids in the training of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine students in clinical nursing practices.
What qualifications you will need:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- (RN) Registered Nurse
- Registered Nurse Diploma
