Experience:

• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Shift: 0700-1930, 1900-0730

Block scheduling can be arranged. Manager sets up schedule. Would like them to be flexible. Either days/nights or straight nights.

Weekend Requirements: 2 weekends per 4 week schedule.

Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday.

Is there a call or standby requirement : 2- 12 hour calls per 4 week schedule. Call person is the 3rd person for night shift. Call is from 1900-0730. One hour response time.

Floating Requirements : Yes, must be willing to float to all departments on low census days as RN/CNA helpers.

  • L&D Beds: 5 LDRP
  • OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 1
  • Triage beds: 0
  • Postpartum beds: 3 (C-section rooms)
  • Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios : yes (3 nurses on during the day and 2 at night).
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Level 1 Obstetric and Nursery Care. Not currently scrubbing or circulating C-sections, but may happen in the future. Travelers will triage. Pre-eclampsia, GDM (if well controlled). Try to transfer out high risk if able. Deliver 36 weeks and above. Anything less they would try to transfer out, if it is safe for the patient.

Experience: Independent with Labor/Postpartum/Newborn Care. 2-3 years of OB experience required.

Are RNs required to titrate drips : Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pitocin, Magnesium, occasional insulin.

RNs must be competent with EFM documentation.

Housing: Confirm the candidate has looked into housing in the area with the submittal. Leads available.

7 days maximum time off

1 reference from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission

1 reference from last 3 years (Charge/Lead reference type) - required for submission

Proof of identification required

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

• Intermediate AWHONN FHM (Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring)
