Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Westminster Gardens, in Duarte, CA, one of several HumanGood communities recognized as a Best CCRC-2024 by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking a Temporary Activity Coordinator for its Memory Support Department. Under general supervision, the Activity Coordinator in Memory Support plans, implements, and monitors human-centered programs in achieving resident engagement that fulfills wellness dimensions of sensory, social, emotional, physical enrichment and spiritual needs of the residents and their families. Promotes quality educational, entertaining, and challenging activities, programs, and outings for residents to enhance the quality of life and resident satisfaction in support of the company’s mission, vision and core beliefs. As a representative and team member of the company, this position is expected to present oneself in a manner that reflects professionalism and ensures resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops monthly program calendar;
- Plans monthly program calendar, implements, and monitors human-centered programs to meet the needs and preferences of each resident;
- Partners with Community Life Coordinators to plan multi- level programs that benefit residents in the community with and without dementia;
- Leads by example and collaborates with clinical partners to ensure team members engage residents in programs;
- Collaborates with clinical partners to assist with resident moves and transfers within the Memory Support;
- Assure that resident profile is completed and shared with team members per department standards;
To be successful in the role, you would have:
• High school Level diploma, GED or equivalent knowledge or experience is preferred.
• One year of experience in recreational activities preferred. Vocational/technical training that includes care of elderly with dementia desired; equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
• CPR certification required.
