Our client, a leader in the automotive industry, is seeking a BIW Weld Gun Mechanical Designer to join their team. What's the Job
- Collaborate with Project Engineers to track and report on the development of weld guns.
- Apply knowledge of fastening technologies including welding, riveting, and adhesive applications.
- Drive customer specifications and ensure compliance with Comau standards in mechanical designs.
- Provide updates on engineering changes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with Mechanical Design and Robot Simulation teams to ensure design intent is achievable.
What's Needed
- Approximately 2+ years of experience in mechanical design with a focus on weld gun design and coordination.
- Proficiency in CAD software (NX) and familiarity with North American automotive standards.
- Strong understanding of Body in White tooling assembly and fixture design.
- Experience in analyzing data and troubleshooting mechanical errors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with potential travel requirements.
